Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu have been convinced to shelve plans to sign a new goalkeeper in the upcoming transfer window.
The Gunners were looking to sign a new stopper amid concerns Emiliano Martinez would quit the club amid concerns over a lack of playing time, according to the Daily Mirror.
Martinez has found himself behind Bernd Leno in the pecking order all season but the Germany international’s knee injury has allowed him a run between the sticks.
The 27-year-old has been one of Arsenal’s most impressive performers in recent matches and is likely to earn a new deal as a reward.
Arteta is a big fan of Martinez and hopes the potential for more game time will convince him to stick around.

Arsenal also have Matt Macey on their books as their third-choice goalkeeper.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed spells on loan at Accrington Stanley, Luton Town and Plymouth Argyle.
Macey has entered the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
He has made two appearances in all competitions for the Gunners following a move from Bristol Rovers at the age of 19.
