Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admitted that he was ‘concerned’ by his side’s performance after the Gunners were held to a goalless draw by Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday evening. The Seagulls enjoyed the lion’s share of possession and chances at the Amex Stadium, but were unable to make the most of their opportunities before the final whistle.
Brighton went close on a number of occasions throughout the match, with Lewis Dunk, Neal Maupay and Dan Burn all failing to convert good chances.
Emile Smith Rowe created Arsenal’s biggest opportunity with a darting run into the box in the closing stages, but his low shot was saved well by Robert Sanchez between the sticks.
Both sides huffed and puffed as the clock ticked down but were eventually forced to settle for a point each on a wet evening in East Sussex.
