Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that it has released a new Apex Legends update on PS4. This same patch is not available on Xbox One and PC, and it doesn’t appear to be planned for those other platforms. The good news is that there is no new content released with this new Apex Legends update, meaning the other platforms are not missing out.
According to the patch notes shared by Respawn Entertainment, this new update is focused on fixing issues on PS4.
A message from the Apex Legends support team adds: “Heads up, Legends: This afternoon, we pushed through a patch for PS4 that addressed the following:
APEX LEGENDS PATCH NOTES
Playlist selector defaulting to Trios after coming back from a Ranked game or after switching Legends.
Small orange diamondDPad/cursor menu controls not working after picking up loot.
Small orange diamondCrash fixes.
It follows the end of the game’s latest event, the Old Ways, which set to run for two weeks.
EA has also shared news regarding the Finals of the Apex Legends Global Series Online Tournaments, which are both moving up one day earlier.
The tournaments will now be held May 2-3 and May 30-31 respectively, in order to better fit competitors’ schedules and those able to watch online.
“We’re always seeking to better serve our players and fans, and that has never been more true than it is today,” said John Nelson, Competitive Gaming Division Commissioner on Apex Legends.
“We wanted to give our community the opportunity to continue to play more Apex Legends and get competitions back up and running as soon as possible while ensuring the safety of all players, viewers and staff.
“The early response has been outstanding, and we’re looking forward to bringing great entertainment to even more fans with our upcoming tournaments.”
