Anthony Minichiello’s mother Teresa and sister Michelle are set to take the cooking world by storm as they represent Italy on Channel Seven’s Plate of Origin.

And the 40-year-old has no doubt that his mum and sister will take out the crown on the upcoming cooking show.

‘When I was a kid, I wanted to be a cook or a chef because we always watched mum in the kitchen and I was fascinated by it,’ he said.

‘The Italian culture is all about growing your own food and cooking at home and I just loved it.’

However, he admit’s it was probably for the best that he chose football as he had a few ‘disasters’ in the kitchen once he left home.

‘Living on my own I had to learn how to cook pretty quickly,’ he added.

Meanwhile, Michelle and Teresa are thrilled to be representing their heritage in the upcoming cooking show and they think they have got what it takes to win.

‘We’ve got passion, we’ve got the drive and I think we can win,’ Michelle said in a recent trailer for the series.
