Alfa Romeo and Aston Martin have unveiled special liveries they will be using throughout the Italian Grand Prix weekend.

Alfa Romeo have been known to use special one-off designs in the past, such as the Valentine’s Day livery they sported during pre-season testing last year.

For their home race in Monza, they have created another and will use it throughout the race weekend.

The main change to their usual design is the addition of green, which is replacing their usual white on the engine cover to create the Italian flag and also being used on their logo.

The changes will not just be present on the car either, with the team confirming the drivers’ race suits will match the design of the machinery – presumably meaning they will also get a splash of green.

Antonio Giovinazzi will also be sporting a special helmet design for his home race, while AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly will be doing so too to mark the anniversary of his first win in the sport.

Speaking of green, Aston Martin have also made some changes to their car for the upcoming race weekend.

While their colour scheme will remain unchanged, the iconic 007 logo has been added to the AMR21 to celebrate the upcoming release of the latest James Bond film, No Time To Die.

The brand has long been associated with the franchise, with the titular character renowned for driving Aston Martins and set to do so again in the upcoming film, which will be released on September 30.

It is not the first time a car has featured a touch of 007 in recent years, with Red Bull running a special Bond-themed livery back in 2019 at F1’s 1007th race.

Aston Martin and Alfa Romeo will be hoping their new designs bring them some good luck with both in desperate need of a strong result.

The British team are currently P7 in the Constructors Championship, 31 points behind AlphaTauri, while the Italian squad trail Williams by 17 in the battle for P8.

Their efforts to catch their rivals will not be helped by the fact Kimi Raikkonen has been ruled out of a second consecutive race after testing positive for COVID-19, with Robert Kubica taking his place again.
