Formula 1 brake supplier Brembo have released a short video explaining the stresses that F1 cars’ brakes will be subjected to at this weekend’s inaugural Miami Grand Prix.

Though there are only four major braking zones across the 5.412km Miami International Autodrome, the hardest braking point will be at Turn 17, where drivers will decelerate from 326 km/h to 78 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, pulling 4.6G.

F1’s revolutionary new technical regulations for this season have produced heavier cars with bigger wheels, meaning the brakes have had to scale up accordingly for 2022.
